UGC notifies Draft Guidelines and Curriculum Framework for Environment Education at Undergraduate level
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has notified Draft Guidelines and Curriculum Framework for Environment Education at Undergraduate level. The Framework was notified in February, 2023. The present document is an outcome of the UGC’s initiative to implement the National Education Policy, 2020 which has emphasised the need to formulate guidelines and curriculum framework for environmental education.
PCI clarifies its Security Deposit and Pharmacy Education Regulatory Charges
The PCI has decided that security deposit will no longer be charged for academic year 2023-2024 and will be decided subsequently. It has also decided to revise PERC.

The amendment provides directions for constitution of the School Management Committee established under the Act.
UGC publishes Result of Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Single Girl Child Fellowship 2022-23
University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently launched Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child (SJSGC) for pursuing research work leading to award of Ph.D degree to single girl child of the family. In furtherance of this scheme, the UGC has notified a list of 1129 provisionally selected candidates. These candidates are eligible to receive fellowship under the scheme subject to the conditions mentioned in the guidelines of scheme, terms & conditions contained in the award letter and the present notification.
NMC issues public notice on online application for eligibility certificate
The notice states that the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences may fix the tentative date for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) in the month of June 2023. Hence, all such candidates requiring an Eligibility Certificate shall apply through the NMC’s website from 9th February, 2023 onwards. The last date for submission of the application is 8th March, 2023 at 6pm.
Veterinary Council of India (Procedure for recognition and de-recognition of Veterinary Colleges and Veterinary Qualifications) Amendment Rules, 2023
These Rules seek to further amend the Veterinary Council of India (Procedure for recognition and de-recognition of Veterinary Colleges and Veterinary Qualifications) Rules, 2017. These Amendment Rules were issued on 6th February, 2023 and are effective from that same date. The Amendment revises the qualifying criteria for organisations to apply for recognition of Veterinary College or a Veterinary qualification.
UGC notifies list of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) offered by National Coordinators on SWAYAM platform for January Semester 2023
The UGC has now notified a list of MOOCs that are ready to be offered by the national coordinators (UGC, CEC, IIM-B, NPTEL, and IGNOU). These will be available on the SWAYAM Platform for January Semester 2023. These may also be viewed on the SWAYAM Portal.
