Indian Nursing Council notifies 31st October as Deadline in Compliance Matters

Indian Nursing Council (INC) has issued a notification that 31st October, 2023 will be its Deadline in Compliance Matters. If the suitability renewal is not given to any institution because of compliance matter, it may be uploaded for compliance in the same application form by using same user ID and password.

3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week 2023

The circular instructs all pharmacy institutions to celebrate the 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week 2023 from 17th September to 23rd September, 2023. The theme for the Pharmacovigilance Week will be, ‘boosting public confidence in pharmacovigilance’.

Dental institutions are warned against uploading details of students without authentic admissions, and they are reminded that they bear the responsibility of providing accurate information.

The Directorate of Medical Education in states and union territories (UTs) across the country has been formally requested to allocate seats for Under Graduate-MBBS and Post Graduate-Broad Specialty and Super Specialty programs for the academic year 2023-24 based solely on the information available on the official website of the National Medical Commission.

UGC has prohibited display of Aadhaar number on provisional certificates and degrees

State Governments are considering the printing of the full Aadhaar number of university students on provisional certificates and degrees issued by the universities. In this regard, attention is invited to sub-regulation (3) of regulation 6 of the Aadhaar (Sharing of Information) Regulations, 2016, which provide that no entity in possession of the Aadhaar number shall make public any database or record containing the same, unless the Aadhaar number has been redacted or blacked out through appropriate means’ under the regulations, as they currently stand, printing of the Aadhaar number on provisional certificates and degrees is not permissible’.

Payment of Stipends to PG Medical Students

The PGMEB has reiterated that as per the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 2000, ‘The Post Graduate students of the institutions which are located in various States / Union Territories shall be paid remuneration at par with the remuneration being paid to the Post Graduate students of State Government medical institutions / Central Government Medical Institutions, in the State/Union Territory in which the institution is located.’

Process to Streamline Registration to Foreign Medical Practitioners

In order to streamline the process of timely grant of temporary registration to foreign medical practitioners the registered hospital/ medical college/ institute should upload on theor official website the details of fellowship programmes being run by them. They must also provide the NMC with additional specified information relating to course content, duration, etc.
