Establishment of Tobacco Cessation Centers in All Medical Colleges

A mandatory webinar will be conducted on August 20, 2024 from 2pm to 3pm, to guide medical institutes on setting up and managing these centers. This initiative, aligned with the Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0, aims to provide comprehensive support to individuals seeking to quit tobacco. The centers will offer essential services and counseling to help people overcome addiction.

NMC Renews MBBS Seats Amidst Penalty Disputes

The NMC had earlier mandated medical colleges to submit annual declarations on the NMC portal as required by the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. Based on the information provided, the commission assessed the institutions and levied penalties on those found to be deficient. To avoid disrupting the ongoing MBBS admissions process, the NMC has allowed renewal of seats for this academic year, i.e. 2024-2025.

HEIs to display exhibition regarding Partition Horrors

UGC has requested Higher Education Institutions to display the exhibition.
