NMC Publishes FAQs on World Federation for Medical Education

India is gearing up to emerge as a global hub for quality medical education and standard healthcare practices. Central to this advancement is the recent accreditation of the NMC by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). The NMC has issued FAQs on WFME on January 18, 2024.

NMC Finalises PG Minimum Standard Requirements

These guidelines, named the “Minimum Standard of Requirements for Postgraduate Courses-2023 (PGMSR-2023),” are set to be implemented with immediate effect. The PGMEB’s PGMSR-2023 guidelines aim to ensure the highest standards in postgraduate medical education, focusing on infrastructure, faculty, technology, and overall quality of training.

Hungary will have first Indian University Soon

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hungarian National Assembly and Vice Chairman met Maharashtra Governor at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on (11 Jan). Speaking on the occasion Committee Chairman expressed the need to establish cooperation between universities in Maharashtra and Hungary. Stating that higher education, especially medical science is an important area of cooperation, he expressed the hope that Hungary will have an Indian University.

Last date to submit applications (fresh & renewal) under National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme for Year 2023-24 extended up to 31st January, 2024 on National Scholarship Portal

The last date for submission of applications for NMMSS for the year 2023-24 has been extended to 31st January, 2024. On the NSP portal, there are two levels of verification of the scholarship application of selected students, Level-1(L1) verification is at Institute Nodal Officer (INO) and Level-2(L2) is with the District Nodal Officer (DNO). The last date of INO level (L1) verification is 15th February, 2024 and for DNO level (L2) verification is 26th February, 2024.

PCI Draws Attention To UGC Mandate On Anti-Ragging Measures

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has issued a notice urging all pharmacy institutions to monitor Anti-Ragging measures as per University Grants Commission (UGC) directions. The UGC has issued comprehensive regulations on curbing the menance of ragging in higher educational institutions. These regulations are applicable to all institutions across the country. This notice was issued on January 12, 2024.
