Online Meeting regarding the outreach and awareness for the SWAYAM Programme

As the SWAYAM Programme is the flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education, a series of state-wise online meetings chaired by Shri Govind Jaiswal, JS(TEL) of the Ministry of Education, have been scheduled to facilitate thorough discussions for informed decision making to obtain feedback from HEls as well as to foster the exchange of ideas, best practices, and insights related to SWAYAM initiatives.

UGC has provided for Implementation of Reservation Policy of the Government of India in Universities, Deemed to be Universities/Colleges and other Grants-in-aid Institutions and Centers

ll centrally funded Universities/Colleges/Institutions including Law Universities are required to ensure strict compliance of Government of India orders/rules on the reservations in their institutions. State Universities including its affiliated/constituent colleges and other Institutes functioning within the state should follow the percentage of reservation for SC/ST & OBC as prescribed by the concerned state Government.

Veterinary Council of India Announces Elections for New Members

The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) is holding elections to elect new members from registered veterinary practitioners. Only individuals registered in the Indian Veterinary Practitioners Register of the VCI can submit nominations. These individuals can send or deliver their nomination paper in Form-I. Alternatively, the eligible candidates have the option to submit their nomination papers online to the returning officer by e-mail.

Delhi Gears Up to Fight Mosquito-Borne Diseases

With the arrival of mosquito season, the Delhi Municipal Corporation has urged all institutions to take action against mosquito breeding grounds. Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) will take legal action against institutions that create mosquito breeding grounds.

NMC Extends Deadline for Annual Declaration

The present notice highlights that some institutions have not yet uploaded their annual declaration details. Hence, NMC has decided to extend the deadline for submission of this declaration till April 25, 2024.

Central, State and Private Universities shall not require NOC from AICTE to apply for offering programmes under the disciplines of Management, Computer Application and Travel and Tourism in ODL/Online

It is informed that Central, State and Private Universities shall not require prior approval/recommendation/NOC from AICTE along with their application to UGC for offering of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Postgraduate diploma programmes under the disciplines of Management, Computer Application and Travel and Tourism in ODL and/or Online mode. However, Deemed to be Universities shall continue to require prior approval/recommendation/ NOC of AICTE for offering of such programmes in ODL and/or Online mode, before submitting their application to the Commission.

Medical Colleges Must Report Intern and Resident Stipend Details

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges and healthcare institutions to submit details of stipends paid to interns and resident doctors. Details of Stipend paid to UG Interns,
PG residents and Senior Residents or PGs in Super Specialty must be submitted by Medical College / Medical Institutions by April 23, 2024.

Deadline Extended for Nursing Schools to Renew Suitability

The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has extended the deadline for nursing educational institutions to renew their suitability for the 2024-2025 academic year. The INC portal will reopen for application submissions from April 20, 2024, to May 6, 2024. A late fee will be applicable for applications submitted during this time.

Applications Open for NEET-PG 2024

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has begun accepting applications for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate Courses (NEET-PG) 2024. Applications can be submitted online only through the NBEMS website from April 16, 2024 (3 PM onwards) to May 6, 2024 (11:55 PM)
