The intermediaries can file an appeal with the GACs within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of communication from the intermediary’s Grievance Officer.
Draft Quality of Service (Code of Practice for Metering and Billing Accuracy) Regulations, 2023
The Regulations create a Code of Practice for metering and billing accuracy. The regulations, amongst other provisions, also provide for the appointment of auditor for audit of metering and billing systems. The Regulations set forth the process of audit of metering and billing systems and Licensed Service Areas.
Ministry of Science & Technology issues press release on Conference on “Geospatial Policy for National Development”
During the conference the experts suggested ways of pushing forward the new Geospatial Policy and harnessing it for national development. DoT issues notice of Compliance to Amendments in Telecom Licenses for procurement of Telecommunication Equipment from Trusted Sources
All licensees are require to submit compliance reports on procurement of telecom equipment. The present notice directs all licensees to submit the compliance report on 1st day of January and 1st day of July of every year through Saral Sanchar Portal. The format of compliance will remain unchanged.

TRAI extends timeline to receive comments/counter comments on consultation paper on ‘License fee and Policy matter of DTH Services’
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had released a consultation paper on ‘License fee and Policy matter of DTH Services’. This paper was released on 13th January, 2023. TRAI has decided to extend the last date of submission of comments on the issues raised in the Consultation Paper by 27th February, 2023 and counter comments by 13th March, 2023.
TRAI directions related to quality of telecom services being faced by consumers and the menace of unsolicited commercial communications (UCC)
Authority has directed TSPs to take urgent steps to demonstrate visible improvement in quality of service and quality of experience by consumers. TSPs were asked to analyze the issue of call muting and one way speech and take corrective action on priority. While rolling out 5G network, TSPs should ensure that there is least disturbance or degradation of QoS of existing telecom services.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued directions to Access Providers to stop misuse of Headers and Message Templates. It also seeks to curb unauthorized promotions using Telecom Resources. Ministry of Communications has issued a press release on both these directions. This release was issued on 15th February, 2023.
