Advice imparted on UCC Detect System to Access Providers
To curb the menace of UCC, TRAI issued the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018 on 19th July 2018. It is sought that all access providers are brought together on it with respect to UCC detect solutions.
All Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) to report major network outages to TRAI
All incidences of major network outages affecting the telecom services to the entire consumers of a district (revenue district as defined by the Union/State Government) continuously for a period of more than 4 hours shall ne reported within 24 hours of their occurrence, in the format specified in the Direction.

DoT invites public comments on TSDSI transposed standards
Telecom Standards Advisory Committee (TSAC) in its meeting held on 16th March, 2023 decided to initiate the process of adoption of TSDSI transposed standards corresponding to the new and updated specifications of 3GPP Release 15, 16 and 17 as National Standard.
DoT notifies Constitution of Bharat 6G Mission and Apex Council
The notice states that an Apex Council has been constituted, comprising of 22 members. The council will lay down the phase-wise objectives of the Bharat 6G Mission, consult the Bharat 6G Alliance, suggest the research and innovation pathways to be explored, review the progress, order external evaluations and suggest course corrections.
MoHFW updates on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health Sector
MoHFW has recently designated AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh and AIIMS Rishikesh as Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence with an aim to promote creation and use of AI based solutions in Health. Government of India has launched Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) which aims to create a platform enabling interoperability of health data within the health ecosystem so as to create longitudinal Electronic Health Record (EHR) of every citizen.
TRAI extends the timeline for comments on consultation paper: ‘Introduction of Digital Connectivity Infrastructure Provider Authorization under Unified License’
Written comments on the Consultation Paper were previously invited from the stakeholders by 09th March, 2023 and counter-comments, if any, by 23rd March, 2023. TRAI has now extended this timeline, hence comments may be sent by the stakeholders by 6th April, 2023 and counter-comments, if any, by 20th April, 2023.
TRAI extends the due date for submission of comments about draft Quality of Service (Code of Practice for Metering and Billing Accuracy) Regulations, 2023
The last date of submission of comments by the stakeholders was 17.03.2023. it has been decided to extend the last date of submission of comments on the draft regulations and the draft guidelines for this regulation, by 3-weeks i.e. up to 07th April 2023.
