TRAI releases Consultation Paper on Definition of International Traffic
In this regard, a Consultation Paper on Definition of International Traffic seeking inputs from stakeholders has been placed on TRAI’s website (www.trai.gov.in). The TRAI has suo-moto floated a Consultation paper on “Ease of Doing Business in telecom and Broadcasting Sector” on December 08, 2021. Written comments and counter-comments on the Consultation Paper were invited from the stakeholders by February 09, 2022 and February 23, 2022 respectively.
Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021
The amendment provides that the provisions of “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021” shall apply on television sets.
TRAI Recommendations on “Improving Telecom Coverage and Backhaul Infrastructure in far-flung areas of Ladakh
All operating TSPs in UT of Ladakh must provide fair and nondiscriminatory access to their spare backhaul transmission media resource capacity via lease/ rent or on mutually agreeable terms and conditions, to other TSP/ ISP. A committee of TERM field unit of J&K and representative(s) of all TSPs should be formed at the earliest to help resource pooling across TSPs. A second level Committee at the DOT headquarters should be formed to periodically review and resolve any impediment being experienced by any affected entity.
MeitY proposes rules to enable Aadhaar authentication by entities other than Government Ministries and Departments
