From 30th June 2024 onwards, post-import clearance will be issued only to imported consignments of milk and milk products that are accompanied by the Integrated Veterinary Health Certificate.

FSSAI Issues Direction on Compliance with Processing Aids in Food Products
Recognizing that notification of all such processing aids may take time, FSSAI, in its 41st meeting, decided to establish an active list of processing aids for use by food businesses on a provisional basis until the necessary amendments are gazette notified. While food businesses may use processing aids listed in the Annexure on technological grounds, FSSAI has directed the Commissioners of Food Safety of all States/Union Territories and all Central Licensing Authorities not to take any punitive action against food business operators for using the processing aids listed in the Annexure that are yet to be notified for enforcement.

The list includes details of various laboratories recognized by FSSAI, which have been accredited by NABL for conducting food sample analysis. The validity of NABL accreditation for each laboratory is also mentioned to ensure transparency and reliability in the testing process.

Central Government Mandates Aadhaar for National Mission on Edible Oils Scheme
Under the new regulations, any eligible beneficiary wishing to benefit from the Scheme must possess an Aadhaar number or apply for Aadhaar enrolment if they haven’t done so already. However, until Aadhaar is assigned, individuals may avail benefits under the Scheme by producing alternative documents such as Aadhaar Enrolment ID slip, along with specified identity documents, subject to verification by designated officers.
Re-Operationalization of Food Safety and Standards Amendment Regulations for Infant Nutrition
As the finalization process of the Food Safety and Standards (Food for Infant Nutrition) Amendment Regulations, 2022 is ongoing and may require additional time, it has been deemed necessary to re-operationalize the revised limits of Selenium, Manganese, Iron, and Biotin in infant food products effective from 1st October 2023.
