The Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) First Amendment Regulations, 2022.
As per the amendment, no person shall manufacture, sell, store or exhibit for sale food for infant nutrition, except under Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Certification Mark, wherever BIS standards available.

The amendment provides the list of Claims statements that can be used by Food Business Operators for Edible Vegetable Oils that may be used on labels or advertisements.
Food Safety and Standards (Foods for Infant Nutrition) First Amendment Regulations, 2022
The amendment provides that where an infant formula in powder format is manufactured without use of any vegetable oil, linoleate, vitamin E, starch, specified food additive and optional ingredients, the product may be named as “Infant Milk Food‟.

The amendment has issued maximum migration limits of substances from plastic materials intended to be in contact with articles of food for new substances.
FSSAI issues circular regarding payment of application fee for endorsement of Vegan logo.
It is clarified that no physical cheque or demand drafts will be accepted by the food authority. The Food Business Operators (FBOs) desirous of applying for endorsement of vegan logo are directed to submit the application fee of Rs. 5,000/- (excluding GST) through online e-payment portal.
Centre advises edible oil producers to declare net quantity in volume without temperature in addition to declaring the same in weight.
As per the provisions made under the rules the net quantity of edible oil, vanaspati ghee etc. needs to be declared either in weight or volume and if declared in volume, then the equivalent weight of the commodity mandatorily to be declared. It is observed that industries are proactively mentioning temperature while declaring the net quantity in volume.
FSSAI notifies guidelines in reference to the old and new FoSTaC portal.
Under the new Portal, training partner have to make sure all the trainees are enrolled in the training batch code before the start of the training session. No request for the enrolment of the trainee after the start of the training will be entertained under any circumstances.

It is clarified that the requirement of AGMARK certification in case of imported food products is suspended till further orders from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
FSSAI invites EOI for Empanelment of Training Partners under Food Safety Training & Certification (FoSTaC) Program.
The Empaneled training partner will be required to conduct training of Food Handlers as per the training curriculum of FSSAI in different parts of the country in a pragmatic manner. Interested and eligible Training Providers/ Academic Institutions/ Licensed Food Businesses/ Associations/ Civil Society Organizations can apply for the empanelment as a FoSTaC Training partner through online link.
FSSAI directions to eliminate inordinate delays in processing of modification applications for food products
This advisory has been issued in pursuance of inordinate delays in processing of modification applications and the FBOs, especially in case of products covered under FSS (Nutraceutical) Regulations, 2022.
