FSSAI Reduces Sample Size for Imported Vitamin D2 to 50 Grams

Authorized Officers are now directed to draw a representative sample of at least 50 grams of imported Vitamin D2. This will consist of two samples of 25 grams each. This change addresses concerns raised about the previous requirement of 500 grams, considering Vitamin D2’s high cost.

FSSAI Publishes Latest List of Accredited Food Testing Laboratories

The list specifies a total of 218 FSSAI Notified NABL Accredited Food Testing Laboratories with valid accreditation. Additionally the list also specifies, 24 FSSAI notified laboratories whose NABL accreditation validity has expired or are under suspension or under process of denotification or have shifted premise without Integrated assessment.

MoFPI extends Financial Assistance to Micro Food Processing Enterprises

The Scheme primarily adopts One District One Product (ODOP) approach to reap the benefit of scale in terms of procurement of inputs, availing common services and marketing of products. It provides the framework for value chain development and alignment of support infrastructure. The ODOP are identified by States / UTs based on the agriculture production, raw material availability, perishability of the product etc.

New Requirements for Importing Coffee Beans Into India

All imported coffee beans must now undergo fumigation with either Methyl Bromide or Phosphine to eliminate any potential Coffee Berry Borers. The fumigation treatment details must be endorsed on the Phytosanitary Certificate issued by the exporting or re-exporting country.
