Draft Karnataka Excise (Brewery) (Amendment) Rules, 2023

The Excise Commissioner on an application made by the licensee accompanied by the licence fee may renew the licence. Every such application shall be made at least one month before the expiry of the licence already granted.

Ministry of Commerce & Industry extends the Foreign Trade policy for six months.

The new five year Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20 provides a framework for increasing exports of goods and services as well as generation of employment and increasing value addition in the country, in keeping with the “Make in India” vision of Prime Minister. Union cabinet approves National Logistics Policy.

This policy paves way for reduction in logistics cost in the country. Focus will be on enabling adequate development of warehouses with optimal spatial planning, promotion of standards, digitization and automation across the logistics value chain and better track and trace mechanisms.

Ministry of Ports issues guidelines for reviving stressed projects.

These guidelines will pave the way for resolution of the cases under arbitration. The port asset is likely to be put to use through re-bidding. This will definitely result in unlocking the blocked cargo handling capacity of approximately 27 MTPA thereby creating better trade opportunities for the prospective investors and Port Authority will start generating revenue.

“Craft brewery” means a small brewery with an installed capacity not exceeding 2 Lakh litres per annum in a place having not less than 4,000 sq. feet built up area, wherein only bottled Beer is manufactured, and includes every place therein, where bottled Beer is stored or issued”
