CBIC defers implementation of electronic sealing to 1st July 2020
Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs in its Circular dated 21st April 2020 has further deferred the implementation of Electronic sealing in case of deposits in, and removal of, goods from Customs Bonded Warehouse till 1st July 2020.
Ministry of Shipping notifies the Deendayal Port Trust (Licensing of Stevedoring and Shore Handling) Regulations, 2019

CBIC issues clarification on clearance of goods under India’s Trade Agreements without original Certificate of Origin
The import consignments for which preferential treatment of goods under a Free Trade Agreement has been claimed but the original hard copy of certificate of origin (CoO) has not been submitted or only digitally signed copy or unsigned copy of CoO is submitted, may be assessed and cleared.
CBIC launches e-gate passes to expedite import clearance process.
CBIC has launched electronic delivery of gate passes and final bills of entry to customs brokers and importers to simplify import clearance process by reducing human interface and help tackle the scourge of COVID-19.
DPIIT suggests Home Ministry to permit limited activity in certain selected sectors
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade in its circular dated 11th April 2020 has suggested the Home Ministry to allow limited activity in certain sectors such as heavy electricals, food and beverages industry, local vendors, repair works etc with reasonable safeguards.
CBIC Orders special drive to expedite custom refunds and drawbacks
The Board issued a directive to all chief commissioners and principal chief commissioners to immediately dispose of all pending refund and drawback claims. This Special Drive shall be in place till 30.04.2020.
Ministry of Finance exempts custom duty & health cess on medical supplies to combat Covid 19
The Ministry of Finance vide its Notification dated 9th April 2020 has removed customs duty and health cess on ventilators, COVID-19 testing kits, Face masks and surgical masks and other medical supplies till 30th September 2020.
