Government Approves Viability Gap Funding for Offshore Wind Energy Projects

This scheme aims to commission 1000 MW of offshore wind energy capacity by the financial year 2031-32. The guidelines cover the commission of 1000MV of offshore wind energy projects. The VGF scheme will be implemented through a transparent process and will provide financial support to developers and help make offshore wind energy projects more economically viable.

Deadline Extended for Comments On Draft Electricity Tariff Regulations Amendment

The CERC had previously requested that comments on these draft regulations be furnished by September 6, 2024. By the present notice the CERC has extended this deadline till September 27, 2024. Through the draft regulations, the CERC seeks to amend the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2024 issued on March 15, 2024.

Report On Status Of Metering In The Country as on 31st March 2024

The CEA has prepared a report on the status of consumer metering, feeder metering, and distribution transformer (DT) metering as of March 31, 2024. The report reveals that while progress has been made, there is still a need for further expansion of metering infrastructure to achieve optimal efficiency and reliability in the power sector.

The draft Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI) aims to establish a framework for certifying green hydrogen produced and used in India. This certification will ensure consumers have access to clean and sustainable hydrogen. MNRE is inviting stakeholders to review the draft GHCI and share their feedback before September 27, 2024.

MNRE Seeks Public Input on Approving Solar PV Cell Manufacturers and Models

According to the draft amendment, all projects falling under the purview of ALMM shall have to mandatorily source their solar PV modules from models and manufacturers included in ALMM List-I for solar PV modules. Such solar PV modules in turn shall have to use solar PV cells from amongst the models and manufacturers enlisted in ALMM List-II for solar PV cells.

Draft Bureau Of Energy Efficiency Ceiling Type Fans Amendment Regulations 2024

The new proposed labels for electric ceiling fans will now include additional information on electricity savings per year (kWh) and CO2 emission reduction per year (KgCO2). The draft amendment regulations also propose to revise the dimensions of the labels on packaging and ceiling motor fan, colour scheme and specific details to be displayed.
