AP State Electricity Regulatory Commission Publishes Draft Demand Side Management Regulations, 2024

The regulations outline principles for cost-effective DSM programs without burdening consumers, require the prompt establishment of a DSM Cell by each Distribution Licensee, and mandate the submission of progress reports and expenses for DSM plans.

Deadline Extended for Comments On Staff Paper On Power Exchange Bidding Oversight

Certain Renewable Energy Plants To Be Exempt From ALMM & RLMM Requirements

Renewable energy plants located within Special Economic Zones (SEZs) or Export Oriented Units (EOUs) will be exempt from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) requirements for solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM) requirements for wind turbine models. These exemptions apply to all qualifying renewable energy plants commissioned by December 31, 2030.

Extension In Timeline For Furnishing Comments On Draft DSM Regulations, 2024

These draft regulations outline the process for managing deviations from power schedules in the Indian electricity grid. The CERC notes that several stakeholders requested more time to provide feedback on the draft regulations. The CERC has responded to this request by extending the deadline from May 24, 2024, to June 3, 2024.

CERC Seeks Input on Transition to Monthly Coal Escalation Rates

A Staff Paper outlining the current method and proposing different transition options has been published on the CERC website. Stakeholders, including power companies and industry experts, are encouraged to submit comments and suggestions by June 24, 2024.
