Stage-III of GRAP Revoked In Delhi As Air Quality Improves

Gujarat Is Set To Become India’s Green Hydrogen Hub
The Green Hydrogen Destination of India” seminar during the third day of the tenth edition of the Vibrant Summit, Chief Minister of Gujarat declared that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Gujarat is poised to become the country’s Green Hydrogen Hub. The government has formulated a special land policy, dedicating 2 lakh hectares of wasteland in Kutch and Banaskantha districts for green hydrogen production. Gujarat, aligning with this vision, has allocated 2 lakh crore rupees for the green growth sector over the next five years.
SOP for Recycling of Lead Scrap and Used Lead Acid Batteries
This SOP covers lead acid battery plates, rains, rinks, radio, racks, rakes, ropes, rono, rents, relay, rails and other lead scrap/ ashes/ residues, etc. The SOP specifies the requirements for seeking permission for import of lead scrap and used lead acid batteries for recycling.
Enhanced compensation for the victims of Human wildlife conflicts
Government of Tamil Nadu has been taking several steps to mitigate human wildlife conflicts. One of the approaches in human-wildlife conflict mitigation is providing adequate compensation to victims of such conflicts. Tamil Nadu Government had enhanced the compensation from Rs.4lakhs to Rs.5 lakhs for the loss of human life or permanent incapacitation in such conflicts. The Government had also created a corpus of Rs.10 Crores to enable speedy disbursement of the compensation claims.

Chief Minister of Gujarat on the third day of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit addressed a seminar on “Opportunities through Circular Economy: Recycling Waste-Water and Waste to Energy” and said that Prime Minister has initiated a new economy of utilizing the waste instead of dumping it.
Tea Board Permits Sale of Tea Waste in E-Auctions
Tea Board has decided that it will permit the use of tea waste only for production of instant tea or for export. All other tea waste must either be destroyed or composted by manufacturers. The Tea Board will also sell tea waste through electronic auction. Therefore, all producers have been requested to offer the generated tea waste entirely through auction from April 1, 2024.

Government has issued orders to set up a Rescue Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre in Coimbatore Forest Division
The Government of Tamil Nadu has issued orders to set up a Rescue Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre at Pethikuttai in Coimbatore Forest Division at a cost of Rs.19.50 crores. The center will watch on the Rescue of injured, orphaned and sick wild animals, provide expertise for scientific quarantine, rehabilitation and release of wild animals in identified habitats, function as a leading institution for consultation and guidance for addressing human animal conflict issues and develop and standardize protocols for rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals in their traditional habitats.
Delhi Launches Emergency Measures As Delhi-NCR Air Quality Deteriorates Rapidly
Taking immediate action to prevent further deterioration, the Sub-Committee has decided to invoke Stage-III of the revised GRAP – ‘Severe’ Air Quality (Delhi’s AQI ranging between 401-450) in the entire NCR. This is in addition to the preventive/restrictive actions already in force under Stage-I and Stage-II of GRAP in the region.
