Draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2020 inserts Additional parameters for water standards
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change vide its notification dated 17th February 2020 has issued the Draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2020. Amendments is brought to Schedule-l which specifies the standards for emission or discharge of environmental pollutants.
Assam PCB directs Industries in the state to display a board outside the factory containing information related to effluent discharge
The Assam Pollution Control Board has directed all categories of industries which requires consent from the Board under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974; Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Authorization under the Hazardous and Other Waste Management and Trans-boundary Movement Rules, 2016, to erect a display board outside the factory gate containing information related to effluent discharge.
The Government of A.P instructs buildings of educational institutions to ensure sustainable environmental management, waste management & rainwater harvesting
The industrial sheds, Schools, Colleges, Buildings of educational institutions including Universities in A.P need not obtain Consent for Establishment (CFE) and Consent for operation (CFO) from APPCB as they were exempted from the purview of Environmental Clearance. But, these buildings shall ensure sustainable environmental management, solid and liquid waste management, rainwater harvesting and may use recycled materials such as fly ash bricks.
Andhra Pradesh Pollution control board implements auto generated receipts for white category units.
The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board vide its notification dated 4th February 2020, has implemented facility for auto generation of receipt for white category in Online Consent Management & Monitoring System through Single Desk Portal. The regional officers no longer needs to issue a separate signed acknowledgement for white category units.
E-waste Manufacturers in the State of Rajasthan shall maintain pass book issued by the state board.
The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board vide its order dated 10th February 2020 has mandated e-waste manufacturers, dismantlers, refurbishes and recyclers to maintain passbook that is issued by RSPCB. The passbook will contain type and details of the e-waste permitted for procurement.
FSSAI permits use of food grade packaging materials for packaged water in order to reduce plastic usage.
The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India(FSSAI) vide notification dated 7th February 2020, has published the Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Amendment Regulations 2020. The FSSAI through the notification seeks to implement the recommendation of the National Green Tribunal to permit use of food grade packaging materials for packaged water in order to reduce plastic usage.

Tripura state pollution control board mandates inspection for environmental surveillance.
The Tripura State Pollution Control Board vide Notification dated 10th January 2020 has made it mandatory to conduct inspection as well as environmental sampling to ascertain the level of compliance of conditions imposed in consent certificate issued to different industries, for environmental surveillance.

The Tripura State Pollution Control Board in its order dated 8th January 2020, directs all places like auditoriums, restaurants, hotels, motels, banquets etc. to comply with the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 for protection of the environment .

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change Vide Notification dated 26 December 2019, has issued Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2019. The Amendment has imposed Standard Parameters for use of Effluents in Automobile Service Stations, Bus Depots or Workshops.
