The amendment proposes that the hot mix plants shall follow the The Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules, 2000 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and workers shall be provided with personal protective equipments.

The Kendras, in collaboration with the public representatives have been running campaigns to clean their Kendras as well as the surrounding areas so as to spread the message. The cleanliness drive has already been conducted at 5974 sites, majority of the sites being Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras. NIPER, Guwahati has conducted special cleaning activities in nearby market and school, in addition to their own campus in Guwahati. CPCB notifies guidelines for grant of one-time financial support under EPC Funds for establishment of palletization and torrefaction plants to promote utilization of paddy straw.

The Guidelines are applicable to only new Pelletisation Units / Torrefaction Units. Applications will be considered on first-come-first-serve basis. The Cost of land for setting up of pelletisation plant including other civil works is to be borne by the applicant. Land possession letter/ lease agreement shall be submitted along with the application for financial assistance under the guidelines. The applicant must have submitted his application for CTE to the concerned SPCB/PCC before applying for financial assistance under these guidelines.

CAQM advises implementing agencies to ensure compliance and strict implementation of the directions

CAQM will make every effort towards strict enforcement of its statutory directions and orders. Violations and non-compliance of the directions issued by the Commission air pollution control rules/ regulations are being viewed very seriously. The Commission in case of gross violations will not only pass closure orders but will also impose Environmental Compensation (EC) and initiate prosecution.

Government of Goa has notified two new categories of water supply consumers.

Single Water Connection utilized for extended rental dwelling units not having separate house numbers shall be categorized as Semi-Domestic Consumers and the tariff as applicable to Domestic Consumers will be made applicable to this category with additional tariff of Rs. 300 per rented premises irrespective of its occupancy.
