Polyurethanes (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023
The Amendment Order extends the date of implementation of the the Polyurethanes (Quality Control) Order, 2021 to 19th March, 2024.
Rajasthan SPCB issues guidelines on Utilisation of Stone Slurry
The SPCB observes that during cutting and polishing of stone lumps to produce tiles, slurry is generated which is either to be used for gainful purposes or disposed at earmarked sites. The SPCB has explored gainful and productive means of utilisation of stone slurry. These include the use of marble slurry in cement, brick or tile manufacturing, etc.
Measures taken for reduction of plastic waste generation and compliance of Plastic Waste Management (PWM) Rules dated 12.08.2021
Key focus areas include source segregation of waste; segregated collection and transportation; processing of segregated waste; setting up of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in all ULBs; continuous awareness generation for reducing Single Use Plastic (SUP) and use of substitute products.
Clarifications regarding implementation of the Steel Scrap Recycling Policy
. The policy provides a framework to facilitate and promote establishment of metal scrapping centres in India for scientific processing and recycling of ferrous scrap generated from various sources.
Revised circular on dismantling and recycling of E-waste
Bulk consumers are directed to channel their E-waste through the Collection centre or dealer of the authorized producer, dismantler or recycler.
Rajasthan State PCB issues directions to regulate Industrial Noise Pollution
Where DG set or heavy machinery is set up, poly urethane of atleast 20 mm thickness must be used on ground surface for controlling noise and vibration. Additionally, suitable noise barrier/ acoustical treatment as an enclosure of the noise generating machine must be provided.
Odisha State PCB publicises Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022
The SPCB reiterates that as per the said Waste Management Rules, there is no longer a requirement for dealers of Lead Acid Batteries to register with the SPCB. It is the responsibility of the consumer to discard waste batteries from other waste streams especially mixed and domestic waste streams.
Plastic Waste Management (Second Amendment) Rules, 2022
The sale of banned SUP biodegradable (without CPCB certificate) and oxo-biodegradable plastics is in violation of Plastic Waste Management Rules.

Aluminium and copper extraction from scrap from oil fired furnace’ mentioned in the orange category is removed from the categorisation of industries and sorting of henna leaves, then separation of leaves, seeds and grass and packing of leaves has been added to the green category.
Delhi Pollution Control Committee prohibits Certain use of Plastic
From 31st December, 2022 carry bags made of virgin or recycled plastic should not be less than 120 microns in thickness. Additionally, Manufacturing, Import, Stoking, Distribution, Sale and Use of the specified 19 Single Use Plastic (SUP) commodities have also been prohibited from 1st July, 2022.
