Applications for Medical Eligibility Certificates Closed/Rejected After Non-compliance with Regulations
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice closing/ rejecting the applications of several applicants seeking eligibility certificates for medical qualifications due to prolonged delays and non-compliance with regulations. This notice was issued on 1st September, 2023.
Clarification regarding registration of additional qualifications of students passing graduate courses
Post Graduate Medical Education Board has requested all the State Medical Councils to register the first four batches of PG degree courses after starting increased intake of seats and three batches of PG diploma courses admitted against the seats which are shown as permitted on NMC’s website.

UGC has prohibited display of Aadhaar number on provisional certificates and degrees
State Governments are considering the printing of the full Aadhaar number of university students on provisional certificates and degrees issued by the universities. In this regard, attention is invited to sub-regulation (3) of regulation 6 of the Aadhaar (Sharing of Information) Regulations, 2016, which provide that no entity in possession of the Aadhaar number shall make public any database or record containing the same, unless the Aadhaar number has been redacted or blacked out through appropriate means’ under the regulations, as they currently stand, printing of the Aadhaar number on provisional certificates and degrees is not permissible’.
Payment of Stipends to PG Medical Students
The PGMEB has reiterated that as per the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 2000, ‘The Post Graduate students of the institutions which are located in various States / Union Territories shall be paid remuneration at par with the remuneration being paid to the Post Graduate students of State Government medical institutions / Central Government Medical Institutions, in the State/Union Territory in which the institution is located.’
Process to Streamline Registration to Foreign Medical Practitioners
In order to streamline the process of timely grant of temporary registration to foreign medical practitioners the registered hospital/ medical college/ institute should upload on theor official website the details of fellowship programmes being run by them. They must also provide the NMC with additional specified information relating to course content, duration, etc.

PGMEB reiterates call for Applications for Increase of Seats in PG Courses for Academic Session 2024-2025
The Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) has stated that pending the processing of previous applications, medical colleges/ institutes may submit fresh applications for increase of seats in Post Graduate Courses being run by them for admission in Academic Session 2024-2025.
