The Higher Educational Institutions are requested to use BBBP logo on the website, portals, stationary items, events and prominent places in the premises of the HEIs. It will convey the commitment of ensuring the rights of girl child and empowerment of women.
UGC directs educational institutions implement Guidelines on ‘sustainable and Vibrant University Industry Linkage System for Indian Universities’
The guidelines are available on the UGC website (www.ugc.gov.in). All the Higher Education Institutions are requested to take necessary action for implementation of the guidelines in letter and spirit.
Maharashtra Public Universities (Amendment) Act, 2023
The Maharashtra Public Universities (Amendment) Act, 2023, was enacted to amend the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, by extending application deadlines for opening new colleges or institutions and seeking permission to start new courses for the academic year 2024-2025, and to replace the Maharashtra Public Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023.
PCI Issues FAQ To Address Faculty Login Issues
In response to concerns raised by faculty members regarding their non-appearance on the institution’s login after applying, the PCI has announced that the issue has been successfully resolved. An FAQ to this effect was issued on January 9, 2024.

Validity of MBBS Admissions for Academic Year 2023-24
It has been brought to the attention of the NMC that the list of 1,04,891 students admitted for the aforementioned academic year includes individuals admitted at the College/Institutional level. The notice concludes with the cautionary information that, despite being part of the final list of 1,04,891 admitted students in the MBBS Course for the Academic Year 2023-24, admissions may be canceled at a later stage pending verification of the admission process by the NMC.
National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Introduces New Regulations for Sowa-Rigpa Colleges and Teaching Hospitals
The regulations aim to establish minimum essential standards, assessment criteria, and ratings for undergraduate Sowa-Rigpa colleges and their associated teaching hospitals. They lay down a framework for the inspection, assessment, and rating of fully established existing Sowa-Rigpa medical colleges and institutions.
Free Registration of Pharmacists on Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana Website
Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is an initiative by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India. PMBI has started an initiative of registering pharmacists on its website. The aim of this exercise is to connect pharmacists with PACS employers and other applicants and to enable them to also become owners of PMBJK.
NMC Provides Deadline for Action on Pending Applications for Eligibility Certificates
Eligibility and Medical Registration Board has decided to grant a 3-day window to all such applicants to rectify their deficiencies through the eligibility portal of NMC. Applicants failing to fulfill the deficiencies or submit the necessary documents by January 10, 2024 will face the summary rejection of their applications.
