The NMC’s Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) announced that they have reviewed and communicated decisions on an additional 68 applications. These applications involve proposals for both launching entirely new PG medical programs and expanding the number of seats in existing programs.

NMC Makes Progress on Approvals for New PG Medical Courses and Increased Seats

The NMC’s Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has stated that communications regarding 119 additional applications have been sent to the respective medical institutions. These applications pertain to both starting entirely new PG medical programs and increasing the number of seats in existing programs.

NMC Reviews More Applications For New PG Medical Courses and Seats

The notifications for these applications have been sent directly to the respective institutions via email. Each institution will find information regarding the next steps and deadlines within the notification. UGC has declared that National Eligibility Test (NET) as an Entrance Test for Admission to Ph.D

To help the students with one national entrance test for admission to Ph.D. as a part of the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Commission in its 578th Meeting held on 13th March, 2024, decided that from the academic session 2024-25 onwards, the NET score can be used for admission to Ph.D. programmes in place of entrance tests conducted by the different universities/HEIs.

Extension In Deadline For Seeking NBEMS Accreditation

The NBEMS has extended the deadline for submission of applications seeking accreditation for DNB, DrNB, FNB, and Post MBBS Diploma. Initially set for March 15, 2024, the deadline for online application submission has been extended to April 30, 2024.

Beware of Fake Letters Issued In The Name of NMC

The NMC notes that there has been no official letter dated February 3, 2024 issued by the UGMEB of NMC. Stakeholders are advised to exercise caution and refrain from acting upon any such fraudulent letters, unless received through the designated email of UGMEB, NMC, or via post from the NMC.
