UGC mandates strict compliance to Academic Calendar by Higher Education Institutions
The Higher Education lnstitutions are requested to announce their academic calendar, giving the schedules for all its activities during the year, and also adhere to the timeline for the commencement of the academic session, exam schedule, and declaration of results, etc. as prescribed by the UGC or the relevant Statutory Regulatory Councils, where applicable.
Launch of Phase-II Internship Program in Technical Textiles
The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, continues its stride towards fostering innovation and expertise in the technical textiles sector with the commencement of Phase-II of the Internship Initiation Program. Under the umbrella of the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), this initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, empowering students with hands-on experience and industry exposure.
UGC has directed Dissemination of information in HEIs through creatives on Voter Awareness
All Universities and Colleges are requested to share these creatives with the students, faculty members and other staff members in their respective institution. Higher Education Institutions may also use their social media handles for sharing these creatives on Voter Awareness and also tag @ECISVEEP and @ugc_india.
NMC Warns Against Fake News On New Medical Colleges or Increased Seats
As of now, the Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) under the NMC has not approved any applications for establishing new medical colleges or increasing UG/PG medical seats for the 2024-25 academic year. Applications received for this session are still under review.
NMC Publishes FAQs on PGMER-2023
The National Medical Commission (NMC) had issued PGMER – 2023 on January 1, 2024. Subsequently, several stakeholders sought clarifications from NMC on various aspects of PGMER – 2023. Hence, after considering the doubts/ queries raised by the stakeholders, the NMC has issued clarifications in the form of FAQs.
NMC Issues Final Reminder For Medical Colleges To Submit Annual Declarations
The NMC has declared that any college or institution failing to submit the Annual Declaration Form by April 18, 2024 will not be granted permission to admit students for the MBBS program in the 2024-25 academic year. This is the final chance for medical colleges to ensure they are eligible to accept students for the next academic year.
NMC Clarifies Document Requirements for PG Medical Course Applications
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a clarification regarding document submission for applications to start new PG medical courses or increase existing seats. NMC is requesting all medical colleges and institutions that have failed to submit the correct documents to resubmit their applications by April 17, 2024.
HEIs to clear Arrears of Post-Doctoral/Doctoral fellowships
Stakeholders (HEI’s and Fellows) are requested to claim their pending dues i.e., fellowship/house rent allowance/contingency admissible up to March 2024, by 8th July 2024 on Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP).
President of India Inaugurates Scientific Convention On Homoeopathy
The event is organized by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) under the Ministry of Ayush. The event also coincides with World Homoeopathy Day and carries the theme “Empowering Research, Enhancing Proficiency: A Homoeopathic Symposium.” The convention will also showcase around 80 poster presentations and host an exhibition with 30 pharmaceutical and other firms.

The ldeathon was launched on 26th February 2024 with the topic ‘Money matters for young adults; Rethinking Outreach Strategies’ and submission are extended till 15th April, 2024. The Higher Educational Institutions are requested to widely publicize about the Financial Literacy ldeathon and encourage the students pursuing Post Graduate studies to participate in the ldeathon actively.
