PM launches Gati Shakti- National Master Plan for infrastructure development.

Gati Shakti platform will incorporate the infrastructure schemes of various Ministries and State Governments like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry/land ports, UDAN etc. Economic Zones like textile clusters, pharmaceutical clusters, defence corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters, agri zones will be covered to improve connectivity & make Indian businesses more competitive.

DGFT extends the date for Mandatory Electronic Filing of Non-Preferential CoO to 31st October 2021.

Based on the request of certain Chambers/Associations the existing system of manual/paper-based submission and processing of non-preferential CoO applications is being extended further and the online system is not being made mandatory. This option of submission and issuance of CoO (Non-Preferential) by the issuing agencies through their paper-based systems may continue further up to 31st October 2021.

DGFT extends the timeline for installation and operationalisation of Radiation Portal Monitors and Container scanners.

The existing designated sea ports namely Chennai, cochin, ennore, JNPT, kandla, mormugao, Mumbai, new Mangalore, paradip etc will be allowed to import un-shredded scrap till 31st March 2022 by which time they are required to install and operationalize radiation portal monitors and container scanner. Such sea ports which fail to meet the deadline will be derecognised for the purpose of import of un-shredded metallic scrap.
