Therefore it has clarified that in respect of normal rice that “Rice (5% and 25%) is already exempted as it is not broken rice but normal rice with permissible limits of broken rice as per standards, however, it shall carry 20% duty as per the notification.

DGFT notifies revised import policy condition of Areca nut.

However, it has been now revised that the import is free if CIF value is Rs. 251/- and above per Kilogram and the Import of 17,000 Metric Tonnes of Fresh (green) Areca Nut without Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition shall be allowed from Bhutan every year.

Ministry of Commerce & Industry extends the Foreign Trade policy for six months.

The new five year Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20 provides a framework for increasing exports of goods and services as well as generation of employment and increasing value addition in the country, in keeping with the “Make in India” vision of Prime Minister. DGFT extends deadline for export of broken rice

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade earlier allowed rice exports till 15 September, if loading began prior to the order, and in cases where the shipping bill has been filed and vessels have arrived at their destination. This deadline was extended till 30 September, 2022 and is now further extended till October 15, 2022.

DGFT extends the period of export of broker rice till 30th November 2022.

In order to ensure adequate availability of broken rice for consumption by domestic poultry industry and for other animal feedstock; and to produce ethanol for successful implementation of EBP program, Govt. of India has amended the export policy of broken rice (under HS Code 10064000) w.e.f 9th Sep, 2022 from “Free” to “Prohibited” with certain relaxations during the period 9th-15th Sep, 2022.
