Government Revises Crop Residue Management Guidelines to Efficiently Manage Paddy Straw
Under the revised guidelines, techno-commercial pilot projects for the Paddy Straw Supply Chain will be established through bilateral agreements between beneficiaries/aggregators, such as farmers, rural entrepreneurs, cooperative societies of farmers, farmers’ producer organizations (FPOs), and panchayats, and industries that utilize paddy straw.
CCEA Approves Special Package of Schemes for Farmers
One of the key components of the package is the continuation of the urea subsidy scheme, which ensures the availability of urea to farmers at a fixed price of Rs 266.70 per 45 kg bag, excluding taxes and neem coating charges.
Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying launches “Report Fish Disease” App
The farmers using this app will be able to connect directly to district fisheries officers and scientists. The Farmers and stakeholders can make self-reporting of diseases of finfish, shrimps and molluscs on their farms through this app for which scientific technical assistance will be provided through the same App by scientists/ Experts to the farmers.
Draft Green Credit Programme Implementation Rules, 2023
The Green Credit Programme will serve as a national-level initiative and facilitate the trading of Green Credits, which act as incentives for adopting sustainable practices. These credits will be generated through a wide range of sectors and entities, including individuals, Farmer Producer Organisations, cooperatives, forestry enterprises, sustainable agriculture enterprises, urban and rural local bodies, private sector industries, and organizations.

Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import

It has inserted a new plant species in its list of plants/plant materials permitted to be imported with additional declarations and special conditions. It has introduced Shorea robusta (sal) which falls under the category of seeds/ kernels.
BIS notifies revised standards in Agriculture and Other Products
The notification pertaining to agriculture have introduced 5 standards. All of these standards have been established on 15th June, 2023. The BIS has also established 3 other standards on 12th June, 2023.
Central Govt. extends timeline for Aadhaar Enrollment of Beneficiaries of Subsidised Food Grains
As per this notification eligible beneficiaries who do not possess Aadhaar Number or are not yet enrolled for Aadhaar but are desirous of availing subsidies, shall make an application for Aadhaar enrollment by 30th September, 2023.
