Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Tenth Amendment) Order, 2023

The Amendment Order is now permitting the import of specified plant species from Nigeria, Netherlands, Spain and Hungary However, such import shall comply with the additional declarations that are required to be incorporated into Phytosanitary Certificate and shall also comply with special conditions as may be applicable.

Central Government further regulates Wheat Stock Limits

It is essential for all stakeholders, including traders, retailers, big chain retailers, and processors, to adhere to these revised stock limits. The amended provisions will remain in effect until March 31, 2024.

Government Takes Measures to Control Rice Exports Amid Rising Demand and Price Hikes

The government has received credible field reports regarding misclassification and illegal export of non-basmati white rice, which has been prohibited since July 20, 2023. To address this issue, the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), responsible for regulating Basmati rice exports, has been instructed to implement additional safeguards.
