The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued a notification revising concessions in its notified fees. This notification was issued on June 07, 2024.
It may be recalled that BIS had issues fees for the following in its previous notification dated May 24, 2023:
- Application fee for grant of licence
- Application fee for grant of certificate of conformity
- Certification fee for grant of licence or renewal of licence
- Certification fee for grant of certificate of conformity
- Fee for review of technical file for grant of licence or certificate of conformity or change in scope of licence
- Inspection fees, including surveillance, for any site visit
- Sample procurement charges On actuals
- Testing Charges
The present notification makes the following revisions in concessions in respect of all of the above types of fees, except for application fee for grant of licence or certificate of conformity and those collected on actuals:
- Extends a concession of 20% for micro enterprises.
- For micro-scale enterprises, an 80% concession on fee payable will be applicable until May 31, 2026, while for small-scale enterprises, a 50% concession on fee payable will be applicable until the same date.
- Grant a 80% concession on fee payable by start-up enterprises until May 31, 2026
- Till May 31, 2026, an additional 10% concession on fee payable by micro, small, or medium scale of enterprises is being granted to women entrepreneur enterprises.
