The use of antimicrobials has grown manifold in the recent years. Easy access of antimicrobials and the haste to start them in any suspected infective aetiology is primarily responsible of their misuse, and in turn lead to increased anti-microbial resistance (AMR). Identification of the clinical problem and making a differential diagnosis at the bed side will help in deciding of whether to start or not to start any antimicrobial.

Karnataka Government Amends Compulsory Service Rules For Medical Graduates

The amendments include adding definitions for exemption and salary, establishing a Grievance Committee, detailing the process for assigning candidates to compulsory service, prioritizing candidates during counseling, and outlining computerized counseling procedures. The Competent Authority may grant permission for higher studies upon submitting an affidavit committing to the remaining part of compulsory service.

Jharkhand Government Updates On Vehicles Registration under Bharat (BH) Series.

The Jharkhand Government issue guidelines on new BH (Bharat) Series or BH Number Plate Registration for non-transport vehicle registration, aimed at facilitating vehicle transfers across India. Private companies must submit Form 60 for registration, while employees must provide an official identity card or service certificate. Toll payments are required for registration, and owners must inform the registration officer of their residence within 30 days. Registration is optional and comes into effect from the Jharkhand Gazette.

Chhattisgarh Government Amends Chhattisgarh (AYUSH) Service Recruitment Rules, 2022

The Chhattisgarh government has amended the Chhattisgarh Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Department’s Service Recruitment Rules, 2022, to include the recruitment of District AYUSH Officers with a pay scale of 67300 213100 (Level-13). The changes require 80% Ayurveda Medical Officers, 15% Homoeopathy Medical Officers, and 5% Unani Medical Officers. Educational qualifications include a graduate degree, internship, and five years of working experience in government institutions.

Government Monitors Wheat Prices To Prevent Hoarding Of Stocks

The Department of Food and Public Distribution is closely monitoring wheat prices to ensure market stability and prevent hoarding. As of January 1, 2024, wheat stocks were well above the prescribed buffer norm. Currently, there are no plans to alter import duties on wheat.

FSSAI Mandates Use of Approved Test Methods For Testing Fortificants In Fortified Rice Products

The Authority has urged all FSSAI-approved food testing laboratories to use specific FSSAI-approved methods when testing iron, vitamin B9 (Folic Acid), and vitamin B12 in fortified rice (FR), fortified rice kernels (FRK), and vitamin-mineral premix for FRK. Laboratories with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on FSSAI methods have four months, ie.. till October 11, 2024, to officially include these FSSAI methods in their accredited scope.

It outlines appointment criteria for various positions: Joint Directors must have three years of service as Deputy Directors, while Principals require ten years of service as Lecturers, with 25% appointed through direct recruitment and 75% through promotion.

Haryana Government Issues Amendment In Haryana Right To Information Rules, 2009

The Haryana government re-emphasised on the earlier introduced FORM-A, requiring RTI applicants to provide proof of identity, as per the Haryana Right to Information (Amendment) Rules, 2021. The government has found that public authorities are not adhering to the rules, and some State Public Information Officers are processing applications without this requirement. The rules should be brought to the notice of all First Appellate Authorities/State Public Information Officers.
