In general, there seems to be a slight decrease in the quantity of tea exported from all of India in 2023 compared to 2022. However, the value of tea exports from all of India increased slightly in 2023 compared to 2022. Additionally, South India appears to have made up for the decrease in exports from North India in 2023.

Tea Board Releases Latest Estimates on Tea Production in February 2024

There was a slight increase in tea production in February 2024 compared to February 2023. India produced an estimated 16.6 million kilograms of tea in February 2024, as compared to 16.55 million kilograms produced in February 2023. Moreover, the increase of production in south India has been attributed to increased tea production in Tamil Nadu.
