Rules For Competitive Examination For Combined Medical Services

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has released the rules and eligibility criteria for the upcoming Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2024. This exam is conducted to fill vacancies in various medical officer positions across Central Health Services, Railways, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Ortho Phosphoric Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024

The amendment exempts Ortho Phosphoric Acid used as a raw material in fertilizer production from the quality control order for a period of 90 days from the notification date. Hence, Ortho Phosphoric Acid used in fertilizer production is exempted from this quality control order until July 12, 2024.

CCTV Cameras to Require BIS Certification for Sale in India

The Indian government has recently amended the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021. The amendment now mandates Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for Closed-Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV Cameras) sold in the country.

CAQM Steps Up Fight Against Paddy Stubble Burning

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in National Capital Region (NCR) and Adjoining Areas has issued a directive emphasizing stricter measures to control paddy stubble burning during the 2024 harvest season. The directive also urges the Government of NCT of Delhi and the state government of Rajasthan to make significant efforts towards eliminating paddy stubble burning during the upcoming season. All relevant states are required to submit monthly status reports on their actions taken based on the plan’s timelines and milestones.

Government Mandates Weekly Reporting of Stock of Pulses

The government is closely monitoring the import and release of Yellow Peas into the market to ensure its smooth integration and stabilization of overall pulse availability. States and UTs have been specifically directed to track stock levels of imported Yellow Peas alongside the five major pulses (Tur, Urad, Chana, Masur, and Moong).

FSSAI Clarifies on Display of Information in Restaurants

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued clarifications in respect of declarations of calorific value, allergen, nutritional information, etc. Food service establishments are required to make these declarations on their menu cards, or boards or booklets.
