MSME Champions Scheme
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has taken several initiatives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in MSMEs. These inter-alia include MSME Innovative Scheme, Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) and Prime Minister`s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to generate more employment through self employment or entrepreneurship of MSMEs in the country.
Ministry of Communications extends of last date to receive comments/ counter comments on TRAI’s Consultation Paper on ‘Regulatory Mechanism for Over-The-Top (OTT) Communication Services and Selective Banning of OTT Services’
Keeping in view the request of stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of written comments and counter comments up to August 18, 2023 and September 01, 2023 respectively.
Government introduces a new category of Ayush visa for foreign nationals seeking treatment under Indian systems of medicine
Introduction of Ayush Visa category is part of India’s roadmap for the Heal in India initiative of the government, which is intended at promoting India as a medical value travel destination. Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2023
Any co-operative society may, by a resolution passed by majority of not less than two-thirds of the members present and voting at a general meeting of such society, decide to merge into an existing multi-State co-operative society.

Guidelines for Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process for Procurement of Power from Grid Connected Solar PV Power Projects
The key objective behind these guidelines is to reduce the overall power purchase costs for distribution licensees, which constitute the largest cost element. By introducing competitive bidding in the procurement process, the government aims to facilitate the development of power markets and subsequently lower electricity prices, leading to substantial benefits for consumers.
FSSAI revises Fees and Timeline for use of Pre-Printed Packaging Material
FSSAI has taken a decision to provide a final one-time permission to FBOs seeking to use pre-printed packaging material which are non-complying with the FSS (Labelling & Display) Regulation, 2020 and its amendments. The permission is granted until 31st December 2023.

FSSAI clarifies on Procedures for Sending of Referral samples to National Food Laboratories
FSSAI has issued an advisory stating that if a food sample has already been tested in any of the primary notified laboratories under private partnership, regardless of their geographical location, the appeal/referral sample shall not be sent to the corresponding National Food Laboratory.
Clarification regarding Vivad se Vishwas I: Relief for MSMEs
The Government had provided certain benefits to the industry (including MSMEs) in Government contracts in the past. There could be some contracts, where original delivery period/ completion period may be prior to 19.02.2020 and delivery period was later extended without Liquidated Damages for any reason and the revised delivery period/ date of completion falls between 19.02.2020 and 31.03.2022 (both dates are inclusive). Such cases will also be eligible for reliefs under the scheme.
