Ministry of Power notifies the model contract for use of biomass in thermal power plants.
The policy on “Biomass Utilization for Power Generation through Co-firing in Coal based Power Plants” issued in October 2021 mandates all thermal power plants in the country to use 5 to 10% biomass along with coal for power production.

The objective of the “Draft guidelines for transforming higher education institutions into multidisciplinary developed by UGC is to transform higher educational institutions into large multidisciplinary Higher Education institutions (HEIs) and strengthening institutional infrastructure necessary for multidisciplinary education and research. The guidelines discuss about different approaches to transform existing Indian HEIs.
UGC invites application for National Fellowship for persons with disabilities for the year 2021-2022.
Under this scheme, fellowship is given to students with disabilities who are covered under ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 for pursuing research leading to award of M.Phil./Ph.D.
Ministry of Commerce extends the ‘Indian Footwear and Leather Development Programme (IFLDP)’ till 31st March 2026.
The scheme is to encourage development of infrastructure for the leather and footwear sector, address environment concerns specific to the leather and footwear sector, facilitate additional investments, employment generation and increase in production.

The Medical Devices (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2022
The amendment provides that where, a free sale certificate has already been issued in respect of any medical device by the national regulatory authority or other competent authority of any of the countries namely, Australia, Canada, Japan, European Union Countries, United Kingdom United States of America, an import licence shall be granted to the applicant without carrying out clinical investigation.
