SEBI issues clarification on applicability of regulation 23 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 in relation to Related Party Transactions.

Regulation 23 was amended vide notification dated November 9,2021, inter-alia, enhancing the scope of related party, related party transactions(RPTs)and the materiality threshold for seeking shareholder approval. However based on the representations received from listed entities and industry bodies, it has been decided to provide the following clarifications and guidance for smooth implementation of the amended Regulation 23 of the LODR Regulations.

UGC Directs Private and state universities to adopt CUET 2022 for UG admission.

UGC has left the choice to the educational institutions to use either marks of 12thBoard or conduct entrance test for admission in UG programmes. However to save the students from appearing in multiple entrance examinations, conducted on different dates, sometimes coinciding with each other, and to also provide equal opportunity to all students from different Boards, UGC invites and encourages all state universities, deemed to be universities, private universities and other Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to adopt and use CUET score from 2022-23 onwards for admission of students in their UG programs.

Center extends import of Tur and Urad under ‘Free category’ for another year, till 31st March, 2023.

The Government had allowed the import of Tur, Urad, and Moong under the ‘Free category’ w.e.f May 15, 2021, till October 31, 2021, in order to ensure smooth and seamless imports. The Free regime in respect of import of Tur and Urad was thereafter extended till March 31, 2022. This policy measure has been supported with facilitation measures and close monitoring of its implementation by the concerned Departments/organization.
