Government of India amended the Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011 for ease of doing business and reducing the compliance burden for the industries.

Earlier in case of violations under the Legal Metrology Act, the prosecutions were initiated against the Directors of the companies even for the violation done by any establishment or branch or unit in any establishment or branch of the company. Section 49 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 allows the companies to nominate any of its Directors as a person responsible for the business of the Company.

Government approves amendments in FM Radio Phase-III Policy guidelines

It has been decided to remove the 3-year window period for restructuring of FM radio permissions within the same management group during the license period of 15 years. Government has also accepted the long pending demand of the radio industry to remove the 15% National cap on channel holding

The Central Motor Vehicles (Draft Amendment) Rules, 2022.

The amber light, if displayed by any direction indicator or as top light used on vehicle for operating within the premises such as airports, ports, mines and project sites, without going outside the said premises on to public roads or as top light used on a vehicle specifically designated for the purpose of patrolling of National Highways.

Directorate General of Training (DGT) launches Bharatskills Forum, a digital knowledge-sharing platform for the ITIs’ trainees, trainers and industry.

DGT in Oct 2019 had launched an online learning platform called the Bharatskills (https://bharatskills.gov.in ), a Central Digital Repository for the trainees and trainers of the ITI ecosystem, providing easy access to updated curriculum, e-books, Question Banks, mock/practice papers, learning videos, etc., for courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) and the Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS), thus enabling anytime, anywhere learning outside the classrooms.

Ministry of education extends the last date for submission of application for National Means cum Merit Scholarship scheme till 15th October 2022.

The National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) is boarded on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – a one stop platform for scholarship schemes given to students. NMMSS scholarships are disbursed directly into the bank accounts of selected students by electronic transfer through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) following DBT mode. This is a 100% centrally sponsored scheme.

Draft Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2022

The amendment provides that Vehicles of category M1, manufactured after 01st October, 2023, shall be fitted with two side/side torso air bags, one each for the persons occupying front row outboard seating positions and two side curtain/tube air bags, one each for the persons occupying outboard seating positions and the requirement for such airbags shall be verified with compliance to AIS-099, as amended from time to time.
