Securities Contracts (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2022

The Central Government may, in public interest, exempt any listed entity in which the Central Government or State Government or public sector company, either individually or in any combination with other, hold directly or indirectly, majority of the shares or voting rights or control of such listed entity, from any or all of the provisions of this rule.

Unified portal to track Employees Provident Fund compliances

All the Principal Employers and their Contractors whether covered under Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970 or not but are governed by provisions of EPF and MP Act 1952 and who are deducting and depositing EPF contributions are hereby advised to get themselves registered on the portal of EPFO.

NMC publishes Draft National Medical Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2022

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice notifying its Draft National Medical Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2022. The notice was issued on 29th December, 2022. Suggestions/ comments/ objections on any provisions of the proposed amendment are invited from the public. The same shall be forwarded by 28th January, 2023.

Revision of Implementation of TRQs under India-UAE CEPA

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a public notice on the implementation of Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQs) under India- UAE CEPA. Annexure IV of Appendix 2A of the TRQs stand revised. These provisions lay down the procedure for import of items under the India- UAE CEPA. Traders are now allowed to import under TRQs for all tariff lines except 7108. This notice was dated 29th December, 2022.

The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022

The notification states that the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules 2022 will come into force from 1st February, 2023. It may be recalled that previously, these rules were set to come into force on 1st January, 2023. This date has now been extended to 1st February, 2023.
