It has been decided to extend the timeline for submission of comments to March 28, 2024.
RBI announces Arrangements with Card Networks for issue of Credit Cards
On a review, it is observed that some arrangements existing between card networks and card issuers are not conducive to the availability of choice for customers. RBI has directed that the card issuers shall not enter into any arrangement or agreement with card networks that restrain them from availing the services of other card networks. Card issuers shall provide an option to their eligible customers to choose from multiple card networks at the time of issue. For existing cardholders, this option may be provided at the time of the next renewal.
Amendment to the Master Direction – Credit Card and Debit Card – Issuance and Conduct Directions, 2022
Instructions relating to credit cards shall apply to all credit card issuing Banks and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). Instructions relating to debit cards shall apply to every bank operating in India.

MoP Advises GENCOs On Timely Import Of Coal For Maximizing Production In Coal Mines
The Ministry of Power (MoP) has extended its prior advisory on blending of imported coal at 6% by weight from March 2024 to June 2024. GENCOs must ensure that their imported coal contracts continue coal supplies till June 2024. CPCB Directs States To Take Action Against Defaulting Battery Waste Recyclers
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has directed all State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs)/ Pollution Control Committees (PCCs) to issue notices to all battery waste recyclers who have not uploaded requisite documents/ invoices for generation of EPR credits on the EPR Portal, suspend/ withdraw/ cancel CTO of defaulting waste battery recyclers and verify documents/ invoices/ information uploaded by battery waste recyclers on the EPR portal.
