NMC publishes Draft National Medical Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2022
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice notifying its Draft National Medical Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2022. The notice was issued on 29th December, 2022. Suggestions/ comments/ objections on any provisions of the proposed amendment are invited from the public. The same shall be forwarded by 28th January, 2023.
CDSCO issues notice on registration of medical device testing laboratories
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation has issued a notice on registration of medical devices as per Medical Device Rules (MDR) 2017. Medical Device Testing Laboratories are to be registered in form MD-40 for Testing of Medical Devices on behalf of the manufacturer.
Revision of Implementation of TRQs under India-UAE CEPA
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a public notice on the implementation of Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQs) under India- UAE CEPA. Annexure IV of Appendix 2A of the TRQs stand revised. These provisions lay down the procedure for import of items under the India- UAE CEPA. Traders are now allowed to import under TRQs for all tariff lines except 7108. This notice was dated 29th December, 2022.
The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022
The notification states that the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules 2022 will come into force from 1st February, 2023. It may be recalled that previously, these rules were set to come into force on 1st January, 2023. This date has now been extended to 1st February, 2023.
Ministry of Labour and Employment issues Instructions as per orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court
The employees who had retired prior to 1st September, 2014, without exercising any option under paragraph 11(3) of the pre-amendment scheme have already exited from the membership thereof. They would not be entitled to the benefit of this judgement. The employees who have retired before 1st September, 2014 upon exercising option under paragraph 11(3) of the 1995 Employee Pension Scheme shall be covered by the provisions of paragraph 11(3) of the pension scheme as it stood prior to the amendment of 2014.
NSE notification on the extranet facility
The download facility in Extranet for users via Internet FTP and usage of Guest login credentials shall be available only till January 28, 2023, and shall be discontinued thereafter.
