Ministry of Steel issues Press Release on Crude Steel Capacity Growth

The crude steel capacity of the country has increased from 137.97 million tonnes (MT) in 2017-18 to 154.06 MT in 2021-22 and is envisaged to reach 300 MT by 2030-31. The production capacity of 300 MT shall be achieved by the private and public sectors expanding their production capacities.

SEBI clarifies on Qualified RTAs

An RTA shall be categorized as a QRTA if at any time during a financial year, the combined number of physical and demat folios being serviced by the RTA for listed companies exceeds 2 crore. In case of an RTA being categorized as a QRTA, an intimation to this effect shall be sent by the RTA within 5 working days to SEBI.

CBIC revises tariff rates of Oils, Precious Metals and Areca nuts

These rates had last been revised on 15th February, 2013. By virtue of the present notification, most of the tariff values of specified imported goods have increased slightly. These goods include crude palm oil, refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil, crude palmolein, etc.

CBDT issues further measures to facilitate voluntary tax compliance

With a view to effectively utilize the data collected from various sources, the entire information is now displayed to the taxpayer through the Annual Information Statement (AIS). The AIS provides a facility to the taxpayer to object to any information if the Source has misreported any such information. The Department confirms the said information with the Source and if the Source states that there is no error, the said information is subjected to risk assessment for e-Verification.
