Advertisement Monitoring Committee of FSSAI has reported contraventions of FSS (Advertisements & Claims) Regulations, 2018

FSSAI will send notices and in case of unsatisfactory response, the FBO is required to withdraw such claims or modify them as per the provisions of the said Regulations failing which, the FBO can be penalised with a fine extending up to Rs. 10 lakhs, as per Section53 of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, apart from other stringent punishments like suspension/cancellation of licence, etc, in case of repeated offences.

BIS revises Standards for Petroleum Products and Other Products

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has revised certain standards for Petroleum Products and Other Products such as dyes. It has also established a new standard; IS 18299 : 2023 Structural Design and Proof Checking Consultancy Services for Structures — Requirements.

AYUSH Regional Review Meeting of North Eastern States

Indian Air Force Joins “Ni-kshay Mitra” Scheme in Commitment to TB Elimination

Government Takes Measures to Control Rice Exports Amid Rising Demand and Price Hikes

The government has received credible field reports regarding misclassification and illegal export of non-basmati white rice, which has been prohibited since July 20, 2023. To address this issue, the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), responsible for regulating Basmati rice exports, has been instructed to implement additional safeguards.

Service providers are required to create a secure online system for the collection, processing, and submission of compliance reports to the Authority. These reports must be accompanied by supporting primary data. Simultaneously, the Authority is empowered to publish compliance reports, audit results, and customer satisfaction survey outcomes through various channels, ensuring transparency and accountability to the public.
