The Government of Assam on July 4th, 2024 issued the Assam Skill University (Amendment) Ordinance 2024, to further amend the Assam Skill University Act 2020.
The amendment made is with regard to the time period for appointment of the first Vice-chancellor by the chancellor on the advice of State Government.
Initially the time period was not exceeding 3 years as per the Assam Skill University Act 2020. As per the new Assam Skill University (Amendment) Ordinance ,2024, the time period has been extended to not exceeding 5 years for the appointment of first Vice-chancellor by the Chancellor on the advice of State Government.
Like all other Universities of the State, the Vice Chancellor is the whole-time officer of the University.
This notification will come into force from July 4th 2024.
