The Government of Andhra Pradesh on April 24, 2023, Issued the Andhra Pradesh Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2023. This shall come into force on April 24, 2023. The following has been stated namely: –
• Chapter II lays down provisions pertaining to the “Rights and Entitlement”
• Chapter III lays down provisions related to the “Education”
• Chapter IV contains provisions related to “Skill Development and Employment”
• Chapter V incorporates various provisions regarding “Social Security, Health, Rehabilitation, and Recreation”.
• Chapter VI contains “Special Provisions for Persons with Benchmark disabilities”
• Chapter VII contains “Special Provisions for Persons with Disabilities with High support needs”
• Chapter VIII deals with the “Duties and Responsibilities of Appropriate Governments”
• Chapter IX comprises the provisions related to the “Certificate of Registrations of Institutions”.
• Chapter X lays down provisions related to the “Certification of Specified Disabilities”.
• Chapter XI contains provisions related to the “State Advisory Board on Disability”
• Chapter XII contains provisions related to the “State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities”
• Chapter XIII states the provisions related to the “Public Prosecutor”.
• Chapter XIV states the provisions related to the “State Fund for Persons with Disabilities”
Every health facility shall extend reproductive, mental and physical healthcare combined with family planning services to the disabled.
