The Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh has issued instructions regarding the declaration of a paid holiday on the day of polling for the general elections of 2024 to the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh and the Lok Sabha. According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, paid holidays have been declared for the respective border states of Andhra Pradesh. Employees working in various sectors in Andhra Pradesh who are electors of the neighboring states are entitled to this holiday as per the Representation of the People Act, 1951. The declaration ensures that workers from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Puducherry have the opportunity to exercise their voting rights without any hindrance.
