The Food Safety and Standards Authority of lndia vide circular dated 26.10.2021 has issued Clarification regarding issuing licenses for “Non-carbonated Water based Beverages (Non-Alcoholic)” under Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.
FSSAI has already amended Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011 to redefine Non-carbonated Water based Beverages (Non-Alcoholic)” to mean beverages containing water
conforming to the standards prescribed for packaged drinking or mineral water under these regulations without without added carbon dioxide and shall contain ingredients as specified in the regulations.
The FBOs are required to comply with the standards prescribed for Non-carbonated Water based Beverages (Non-Alcoholic) by 1st February, 2022.
