AICTE issues circular regarding organizing Cyber Jagrookta Diwas for sensitizing School/College Students in Municipalities and Panchayats.

The All India Council for Technical Education on 13th May 2022, has directed all the Directors/ Principals of AICTE Approved Institutions to create awareness about the steps taken by the Government to deal with cybercrime, especially about the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Students may be encouraged to follow the 14C on social media i.e., twitter handle (@Cyberdost), Facebook (/CyberDost14C), Instagram (cyberdost14C), and contribute in dissemination of cyber security tips.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier implemented the “Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (14C) Scheme” with the objective of providing an effective mechanism to deal with cybercrime in a coordinated and comprehensive manner. “National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal “was launched for reporting all types of cybercrimes especially cybercrimes against women and children. The incidents reported in the portal are automatically forwarded online to the State/UT concerned.

Further, it is advised that ” Cyber Jagrookta Diwas ” for sensitizing college students in the fight against cyber crime be celebrated on 6th October,2022 as desired by Govt. of India; and create public awareness about the steps being taken by the Government to deal with cyber crime especially about the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal the National Helpline No.: 1930 be created.
