The All India Council for Technical Education on 6th September 2022, has extended the deadline for completion of mandatory teacher training for a period of two years till 31st July 2022. The mandatory teacher training has been prescribed as a necessary requirement for the promotion of the teachers working in technical institutions (degree and diploma level) under the 7th CPC AICTE Regulations 2019.
It was also provided that those who are eligible for promotion after date of publication of Gazette, shall have to meet the necessary conditions such as additional qualifications, undergoing industrial training, pedagogical training, faculty induction programme, publishing research papers, etc.
However, it has been brought to the notice of this council that it had not been possible for the faculty members to complete the mandatory teacher training, due to covid-19 pandemic and non-availability of the training modules.
Therefore, it has been decided by the council to extend the deadline of July 31, 2022 for a period of two years (i.e till 31st July 2024.)
