The State Government of Bihar vide its notification dated 9th May 2020, has amendment the conditions on working hours for a period of 3 months due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The government has extended the working hours from 8 hours to 12 hours per day and seventy-two hours per week. Further, the periods of work of adult workers in a factory each day shall be fixed that no period exceed six hours and that no worker shall work for more than six hours before he has had an interval for at least 30 minutes and Overtime wages shall be paid as provided under section 59 of the Factories Act, 1948 which specifies provisions for extra wages for overtime.
