Government of Assam issues guidelines on industries restart post-lockdown

The Assam Pollution Control Board vide its notification dated 11th May 2020 has issued a set of guidelines on safe restart of industries post-lockdown.

Every industry must carry out safety and hazard audit before resuming operation and the units manufacturing, storing and importing hazardous chemical shall resume operation only after taking adequate steps to prevent chemical leakage.

All the units must ensure pollution control equipment, connectivity of OCEMS with CPCB/SPCB severs. Effluent treatment plants including safety equipment and its machinery shall be kept in good operable conditions before resuming operation.

For the safety of workers, the industrial units should ensure sanitization of the factory premises. Further all industries must have an up-to-date insurance policy under the public liability insurance Act 1991 and a copy of the same should be submitted to PCBA.
