The State Government of Tamil Nadu in its press release dated 10th May 2020 has decided to open essential shops from 6 am- 7 pm and Private offices in Chennai region are allowed to operate with 33% workforce from 10.30 am to 6 pm with effect from 11th May 2020.
Further standalone and neighborhood shops will remain open from 10.30 am to 6 pm in Chennai, and 10 am to 7 pm in the rest of the state and all tea shops, except those in containment zones, can sell takeaway parcels from 6 am to 7 pm. Every shop shall ensure compliance norms like individual distancing, sanitation, and full adherence to Standard Operation Procedures.
The SOP includes maintaining individual distancing, carrying out disinfection work at least five times and trimming the workforce to 33 per cent to ensure a safe work ambience for employees.
