Karnataka PCB insists all dealers of lead acid batteries to obtain registration certificate.

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board in its circular dated 21st March 2020 has issued direction to the chairman of State pollution control board to strictly implement the Batteries (Management and handling) Rules, 2001, thereby issuing registration certificate to dealers of lead-acid batteries under the said rules.

The Term dealer under Rule (7) specifies the person who sells and receives led acid batteries or components thereof to and from consumers or other dealers or retailers on behalf of manufactures, importers, and re-conditioners who shall register with the state pollution control board for five years by filing Form- IV and shall file an annual compliance status report to the central pollution control board by 30th April of every year.
